I guess this means the feds will finally reverse-engineer all those UFOs they claim to have after decades of fruitless progress.
Either that or blow up the continent.
Or both. -
PatriotReactor (patriotreactor@freespeechextremist.com)'s status on Tuesday, 30-May-2023 10:43:46 JST PatriotReactor It hit me the other day that as repugnant as I find racism to be, we have to thank racism for the diversity of color and culture that comprises humanity. Because by and large, people prefer to congregate with those similar to themselves, all else being equal, purely out of instinct. And that is technically racist...which is okay. In fact, it's great. Because in the end it helps keep humanity interesting, diverse, and not a boring homogenous mix. And for those of us who are, shall we say, expanding our dating options...that is indeed the best kind of world to have.
So in a paradoxically hilarious way, racism (when done peacefully) gives everyone a place and opportunity to thrive. In their own way.
Which is far from what the opposite does, which intentionally DESTROYS options for the sake of homogeneity...even though it inevitably creates a world where the most brutal racists would exist (because when all colors are mixed...only one color remains. Whatever that is).
People call it globalism, but there has to be a better word for it imo. A word that describes the attitude that is vehemontly bigoted towards anything remotely resembling racism, even when it's benign, while sowing the seeds for the worst kind of racism by homogenizing everything to oblivion.
Hold on; that has to be it: Oblivionism.
And isn't that exactly what the psychotic left wants humanity to become? -
PatriotReactor (patriotreactor@freespeechextremist.com)'s status on Saturday, 27-May-2023 01:49:08 JST PatriotReactor I think AI will certainly replace those "artists" whose imaginations are limited to things like bananas being duct-taped to a wall. That much is clear.
Otherwise, the rest with real imaginations (especially those that would make DaVinci blush) will be okay.
Even when the rest of the world seems hell-bent on destroying anyone with actual talent from their first day of school. -

Fun fact: public roads used to be financed through lotteries.
Virtually every public good can be supplied privately better, and cheaper. -

Back in retail, I once knew an assistant manager (a millennial) of a jewelry store who was promoted to management over a boomer who was similarly working out of retirement. The boomer didn't take it well at all, even though the assistant was no slouch and had a reputation for results. Boomer complained directly to the regional manager (gen Xer I think) to his face when he visited, who proceeded to lecture him about how the assistant's merit exceeded his own. Boomer didn't like it, so he quit on the spot.
Boomers, in general, don't work well with younger people. And certainly don't like being subordinate to them, even if they happen to be more competent than they are. If they're working out of retirement for a high-paying gig, it's because they're desperately trying to hold onto a lifestyle that they were previously used to, even if it's at the expense of someone younger than themselves and for a position of very high import to prevailing paradigm. If they say "no one can do my job", they're lying, plain and simple.
With that said, I know a few boomers I could work well with, but they're the exception to the rule after having adapted their lifestyles to fit with the times. -

The overlap between this and the propaganda against millennials for the housing crisis since 2008 cannot be overstated. -

Outside of assassinations and kidnappings, you'd have a point.

And here I was thinking I was stuck in the past for taking my radio with me whenever I do work outside, set to the oldies station.
Turns out, I was ahead of the curve the whole time!
