You can mill them out easier than you can make the holes smaller or change the bolt carrier but it generally isn't worth the hassle unless you're rich and can afford the registered sears or other parts/paperwork to take advantage of it.

It's still nice when they don't do that stuff because then at least you have the option to use that stuff if you eventually have the money or if laws don't matter anymore.
