Winchester makes nice ones but for the money the Marlin 336 is hard to beat. I've heard they're not as good as they used to be though so maybe try and find an older used one from the 80s/90s or earlier.

The Ubertis are decent too from what some of the "cowboy action" people have said.

If you have the money, the "color case hardened" stuff looks awesome.
