Vaxry added a coc without apply it, cause the same shit still happening even today.
My take :
FDO : If my organization have some rules I dont want to have people who doesn't follow them, even if they are famaous
Vaxry : If I don't like the rules of that organization, I don't join it.
Simple as that.

Vaxry (rightly) seperated his #Hyprland community from his contributions to FDO, and he still got some overzealous hypocrite to come after him years later. It would be less insulting if Lyude at least followed those rules herself, but she just applies them to others when convenient for her powertripping desires.
Its important to note that Vaxry did not breach the rules of the organisation, the rules were simply misused out of context. This is, sadly, the standard for CoCs, and the main concern that opponents of CoCs have. It is sad that in all these years a CoC has still never made a positive impact on any community, ever.

Some guy who behaved as was asked of him and even contributed useful code got smeared anyway and was banned by someone else who simply wanted to feel good on her little powertrip.

To take a very simple example, the word "nigger". It is used constantly in certain genres of music, but that does not make those artists immediately racist, does it? However, if used as an insult against another person, that would be racist. It uses the same word, but the context decides if it was racist or not.
