@sotolf systemd is adding a complex mess layer over more complex mess layers. So, before you only have to deal with tools now if something is wrong you might have to report to systemd and they have to deal with the problem by fixing the bug over the thousands line of code.
People should realize that they are making things "easier" with the cost of complexity and less control over the system. Yeah, the kernel is too complex too and we have almost the same issue but at least the kernel does not interfere with the user experience as the bloody systemd does.
