     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Heil_Honkler @sickburnbro Yeah, I remember some guy writing that lasers have no distance limit so they'd be good for this. Atmospheric dispersion is a thing, and a pulse from a ground based laser may lose too much energy. Then there's also the point in the Kimulation thread that punching holes in these balloons are not enough to bring them down, because there's not enough pressure difference for them to leak quickly.

     @Bro-Drillard @Heil_Honkler @sickburnbro You need big, huge, and numerous holes since it’s made up of cells. It’s able to sustain a good deal of perforation. They don’t wanna be embarrassed by peppering it and gloating about “downing” the balloon only to have to explain for 2 weeks straight that “actually it’s been losing altitude pretty quickly, we definitely got it, you don’t understand it just takes a while”

     which means they actually probably work okay at about 4 km
