     The state in the USA where I live there was also barely any real enforced lockdown. Shops and stores closed but I could go whereever. My job at a warehouse was considered "essential" so I still had to work. However, a co-worker of mine used to live in Michigan and she described it as being far more draconian due to Governor Gretchen Whitmer's policies.

     Despite still working throughout the entirety of the covid scare, when people were afraid and staying home/forced home because their job sent them home, I did like it.

     Normally, it takes me 40 minutes to an hour to get to work. Back in those times, it took me 20 minutes... then 30 minutes after I finally started to see highway cops again.

     depending on where you worked/where you live, you had one of the following situations from what I recall:
     
     1. nothing; your boss doesn't give a shit and where you live didn't care
     2. heavily pushed but never forced nor hinted at it being required (where I worked, it went like this; I never took the covid shots despite them offering to pay me to take it because I was paranoid and still refuse covid shots)
     3. heavily pushed, heavily implied it would be a requirement at some point but this never materialized (you may've lost your job anyway if they took this as an opportunity to scrutinize you for normally overlookable minor errors and mistakes, or just heeded hearsay)
     4. you work in a field (especially healthcare)/live in an area where they required you to receive the covid vax. healthcare professionals are already usually required to get flu shots, so most of them got it.
     
     but man the propaganda pushing it overall was heavy and strong

     @lichelordgodfrey @sickburnbro Did a general vax mandate actually happen in any country? AFAIK they just harassed people by forcing you to get tested all the time if you didn't have vax papers.

     The vaxx does shit ( and probably just give people cancer ) - additional shots of it just makes people more likely to get reinfected ( which is what @TrevorGoodchild has said since the beginning )
     
     Shutting things down didn't work, because it didn't work for China, and if the whole world had tried that, the world would have imploded.
     
     The **ONLY** way to control it would have been to not have the US Government fund gain of function research in a shady chinese lab with known safety issues
