@Hyperhidrosis @Humpleupagus @Moon I simply have a gut. I cannot get fat on any other part of the body. I eat I eat I eat and it's just the gut

I have that tendency. It's genetic. Abdominal fat is hard to cut generally. Sprinting and full court basketball (even running the court alone / shooting) will work the mids hard while leaning them out.
If you have a natural tendency towards abdominal fat, situps and crunches will likely not solve it. Not that you shouldn't do them, especially when done in combination with other exercises, but they could make you look fatter by firming under the fat and pushing it out.

@Humpleupagus @Hyperhidrosis @Moon I don't mind that, as I built muscles, the fat will eventually go if I stop eating like a pig
But otherwise, the fat has to be located where the muscles are to actually have an absorbing effect or what?

@Humpleupagus @coolboymew @Hyperhidrosis @Moon I read a paper that spot reduction IS possible under circumstances ie vigorously massaging area for 15 mins *before* (aerobic) exercise. I think they used one of those muscle massage vibro gadgets. Primes the fat from that area to be used rather than using fat stores from 'everywhere at once'. Guess combining with Keto would help.
The academic paper/study was from some Iranian university. I read it a while ago and haven't been able to find it since.
Arnold also thought spot reduction *was* possible. He wrote in his Bodybuilding Encyclopedia that although 'spot reduction' was not possible according to the literature, that certain exercises such as broomstick twists for the obliques worked in a way *like* spot reduction.
Maybe those old timey gyms had it right after all?
