@WashedOutGundamPilot @robbie @ArdainianRight @ChristiJunior @KennyWhitePowers @WeissenSocken88 @idea_enjoyer I think it was because Beyonce was the idealized form of 3rd wave feminism “owning your sexuality”. It wasn’t just that she was pretty, but that she was confident. She wore sexy outfits to look good, not to whore out, since she ALSO was married and had kids. Her songs were aimed at and bought by women, so her money and success couldn’t be attributed to men throwing money at an object of lust, but to her own talents.
This combination is the self-fulfillment, self-validating dream for women. And like you said, they project and think men must find the same things attractive that they do.
If feminism was honest about its intentions, it would have held up Beyonce as the perfect realization of what women should strive for. But feminism doesn’t want women to marry, reproduce, and be happy. It wants women to strive for power, wreck society, slave away for a corporate master, spend all their money seeking fulfillment in exotic vacations, and die childless.
She’s too popular and influential for TPTB to tear down, but she’s safely reduced to a sanitized, publicly acceptable token to bring out whenever they need a Super Bowl halftime show or another commercialized girl power anthem.
