I knew Tokyo Rose herself. She was married to a guy in Japan but her husband was legally barred from entering the USA and the USA prevented her from moving to Japan. They loved each other but they got a divorce just so they could move on with their lives.
BTW 60 years after WWII she was still pushing Japanese propaganda on me.
