@p @i @0 @allison @sun as far as i'm aware google wasn't involved much with JXL and it's mostly JPEG's work with some tech borrowed from Google's PIK and Cloudinary's FUIF. Google is pushing AVIF now which is just webp but with AV1 instead of VP8.

@allison @0 @RedTechEngineer @i @sun Yeah, I've actually disabled webp entirely after the stupid webp bug. I don't think there's a compelling reason to use it. webm has brought nothing but trouble.
