Haha
Really is fun seeing the old apostate boomers hash this out only to hear “the feeling of a job well done?. Boomer, I’ve never stepped foot in a chapel in my whole life, my moral code can be boiled down to Fuck you, I’ll do whatever feels good“
to this day my family STILL doesn’t believe that I’ve missed out on so many jobs. There are dogshit ones I was overqualified for, and they still passed me over because they fear you’ll end up leaving the second you get something better.
same guy
This is already in effect in more ways than you can see on the surface.
Most of the best work is “I know a guy, he’s booked up, but….”
Douchey but he’s right in that a lot of people quote fantastic levels of pay for jobs that don’t give them enough work to make that level.
“It’s a hundred fifty k a year!!!!” they’ll say, but that’s based on a pay rate of making 50 widgets per day….and the company only lets you make 14.
Classic old man
Don’t work for family, 90% of the time it’ll screw you
TBH I get this. When I moved back to america I bailed on my career because working with americans was entirely untenable after seeing what it’s like in the rest of the world.
Enjoy your pajeets and nigs, it’s okay, they have software backing them up now
@djsumdog @WashedOutGundamPilot
>use more cash and Craigslist kids!
Even better, use alternative currencies like Monero and precious metals, and support the counter-economy.
@WashedOutGundamPilot
I got a job in a bookshop, while I told them "I'll be here for 2 months anyway, before I get my dream job"... Well, it took 2 years, so they had more of the "over qualified labor" then they could wish for.
But more importantly, the boss told me: Yeah, this isn't a place where you should try to build a career. I get it.
@PhenomX6 I’ve had this convo with our people before.
“there are no pilots!”
“okay, well if you want you CAN try to help create some replacements, why not at least subsidize their experience building phase and offer - “
“no, we don’t want to spend money. Maybe the government will give us $40 million to make a flight school exclusively for black trans kids”
@kakkerel @PhenomX6 I find it very interesting how hostile our economy has become towards those who guard their time from theft
@1967GTO Nobody over 56 believes me when I describe this, but it has been a fixture of every job I had since seventeen
@SpurgAnon Literally had this convo recently.
“well the latinos are doing the jobs YOUR generation refuses to!!!! You kids are lazy!!!”
mexicans don’t pay insurance, that ALONE saves a lot of money around here, and we all have to pay uninsured to protect ourselves from them.Hell, I have to carry a homeowner’s policy because of them, too, and every time it goes up I know the theft rate in the zip code is rising.
@CenturianFrend Need a booster before going to hang out with them, gotta be ready for when they start shit talking white kids and praising all the “hard working” shitskins
@WashedOutGundamPilot
This happened to me with fucking programming.
14 years of IT education was almost flushed down the drain, if I didn't find a job, that was close enough, to appreciate the knowledge. (testing)
Passivation sounds like a cool racket:
@RupertvonRipp @SpurgAnon Pajeets are much harder workers than you and me because they got loans to open up a 7/11 franchise after being in this country a year
YOU could do that too! Why don’t you?!?!
@Bro-Drillard But does it?
Most kids are spiritually dead. The nerves of their soul dulled and atrophied into nothing, whatever’s left burned out by years of high-chasing to simulate true lasting happiness.
I don’t think the average mutt today can understand, or even feel something like that right now. They’re too spiritually estranged from their own humanity.
@RupertvonRipp @CenturianFrend I’m excited for this year. Every time I talk to my dad about history he’s hitting all the right notes.
interesting post about rust removal from passivation dude
IDK who’s right here but “show me the pay stubs, boomer is a very funny way to call a bluff everyone’s made at some point.
“Yeah, I’m making XXX,XXXX!” when in reality you’re only 2 years in and scraping $72 because the job isn’t holding up what it dangled in the interview but you’re in too deep to realize
Also I got excited because someone posted a sheet but it’s not a pay stub, it’s a union memo promising pay levels. Cool, nice, but I’ve fallen for that shit too.
This is more true than the old folks here want to understand.
The only reliable way around it is to network…..and thanks to a lifetime of OUR parents moving for careers and living in isolated suburbia, our own cloistered, weird upbringing
-(can’t play outside or talk to strangers bc dateline said everyone’s a pedo so stay inside with your 1-2 friends playing video games, I had so many people bug me as a kid because they though I was unsafe just riding my bike around town alone) -
it’s hard to just magically stumble into making a viable working network to find good jobs.
@NitroDubs @RupertvonRipp @SpurgAnon have a bud who literally had this and his parents were congratulating the pajeet because he was “screwing the gov” by illegally buying multiples and leasing them or something. When he started asking why it was okay for a brown to do it, but not for him to eschew taxes or steal from walmart they melted down
Not a stub but interesting.
heartening
“kids don’t wanna work” niggers would be awfully surprised to see the insane contracts the alaskan companies sign with a new crop of UND pilots
“what?!?!? YOu’ll PAY me to fly? Hell yes!!! NINE WHOLE DOLLARS AN HOUR? Whenever I fly?!?!”
“yup, and you’ll fly ALL the time! There’s so much work to do! The weather in Sitka, Alaska is fantastic, you’ll be full time!!!”
“HELL YES I’LL COMMIT TO 3 YEARS !!!!! Oh, sure, I don’t care about the $20k cancellation penalty!!!”
@NitroDubs @Dadbolgainz @RupertvonRipp @SpurgAnon Not even that. The world shifted immensely and significantly in the last 5-8 years. Internet has supplanted reality in many ways, it now directly drives society in many more methods than anyone can understand. Algorithms are shaping opinion and poisoning human interaction and we have multiple generations seeing the world through that lens entirely.
There are kids who think their IRL meat-body isn’t their “Real” self, but an avatar used to interact with this plane, while their PFP is “them”.
The world experienced about 5 years of political and media temperature change in 2015/6. and since then? Maybe 15 years
@sapphire @djsumdog @WashedOutGundamPilot There are many options besides crypto.
@n8 I once again wish I could share my good news and fun stuff but it’s always too doxy. If it’s not me publishing it on my normie accts, then it’s the women in my life bragging about it.
Like, I just received a very cool heirloom, and I might have the rest of the month off to hang out and snuggle, and I have a cool job lined up to replace this one. Despite life taking some shit turns, things are getting better for me month by month
@sapphire @djsumdog @WashedOutGundamPilot For now, it's good for renting VPSes and things like that. Monero is still anonymous and it's not like we can't create underground ISPs.
@sapphire @djsumdog @WashedOutGundamPilot Nobody will steal my copper.
@n8 @Robert_Edwardly Don’t fret man. Guys older than us turn things around every day. If you can stay in some modicum of in-shape, you can do alright for yourself. I’ve met more than a handful of guys who worked their way up from nothing.
Hell, less than nothing. One of my best buds for a time was living on the street as a homeless kid for a while, he managed to clean up and make something of himself with a very sweet, nice trad girl who wanted a fixer-upper
@n8 @Robert_Edwardly Grandpa always said “the lord helps those who help themselves“ and it’s continued to be true.
All we can do is own up to our previous fuckups and hit whatever pressure points we can in life. FWIW people do like a prodigal son, if you’re earnest and likable then you just might find someone who gives you the ONE shot you need to turn things around. You could go from nothing looking up at all, only to start a new job because you started cracking jokes with a dude at the tire shop - before you know it you’re working for him when another dude says he wished he could hire more people like you, and a few years after that one of your friends from that job calls and asks if you want a job now that he’s management there.
Dudes help each other out, most of our success today is predicated entirely on the quality, and quantity of the dudes we know.
