FEP-8b32 is designed to be compatible with existing implementations. The upgrade path for Mastodon may look like this:

1. Support multiple public keys per actor
2. Start publishing second Ed25519 key as described in FEP-521a
3. Start adding FEP-8b32 integrity proofs in addition to LD signatures (as specified in "Backward compatibility" section of FEP-8b32)
4. Stop adding LD signatures

@frogzone @r @marty_bent Mitra will not embed remote media into posts, and downloading the whole video is probably not feasible. But I think PeerTube should provide a thumbnail image.

@frogzone I didn't find an easy way to dynamically insert <title> tag. Maybe this can be done with an advanced svg loader.

@nimda @frogzone Setting federation.announce_like_enabled to false should help. This won't significantly affect user experience.

(By the way, that parameter was renamed to fep_1b12_full_enabled, but the old name is still supported)

Also, I did some reading on telemetry standards, and it looks like they are easy to implement.

@elvecio Yes, I saw your message. Mitra doesn't fetch replies collections automatically, only on demand. Mastodon probably doesn't fetch them either.
Maybe it's FediFetcher?

It is a mature and widely used standard, but at the same time it's a blank slate because it doesn't have e2ee layer yet. Seems like a perfect foundation for developing a next generation of private & secure messaging.
