    The government doesn't come in and seize assets when this stuff happens though. They take a cut, but what usually happens is they get bought out in a forced sale to a larger bank. If this was about wealth transfer to the government they wouldn't have just shuttered a handful of regional banks, especially ones invested in fintech.

    Zero difference as in being on the same page or zero difference in regards to being the same entity? Because those are very different things. And if it were for consolidation, I would expect there to be more than just a couple shutdowns and the money wouldn't be going to banks, they would be going to the government.

    They're not the same entity. Just point blank, prima facie, that is just wrong. On the same page? Sure. Absolutely. Moving in lock-step? Yeah, probably on like 90+% of all things.
