Never liked the "they're not getting coverage on purpose!" Thing. I remember the exact same people saying the precise oposite thing when nick/af would get coverage. And that's not a defense of nick by any measure, I've got a proven track record of hating that fag too, it's just a completely inconsistent and incoherent heuristic. Maybe they just didn't coverage because they didn't pose an actual threat. -

There was a brief period starting about a month or two again where a few of them went back on there, got some decent engagement on a handful of posts, but it's pretty much a dead platform for them. I can get comparable interaction on a fedi post about jelqing on nicecrew to what sven gets on his twitter. -

A lot of that is/was voluntary on their part. For a few years, it was "twitter is gay and for fags, don't go on there." The most outreach they were doing was flyers and stickers in public- how many people do you know actually look up whatever it is when they see those, political or otherwise? They really didn't put in a lot of effort into spreading the message beyond people who were already plugged in. -

When they did it the first time around, it was sincere. Or at least, more sincere than this time. Them coming back to it now is coming after years of shitting on the old model, calling it unserious, telling the people who missed or preferred it that they were unserious people who aren't seriously interested in the cause. The entire "return to form" reeks of "hey, we tried to do the 'serious politics', and that wasn't financially viable. You guys liked it when it was just friend simulators and meetups to drink with buddies without the party politics pretense, right? If we go back to that will you give us money again?"

The main reason it got as far as it did was for 2 reasons:
1 ) momentum (people already knew about trs, there was already a dedicated fanbase from which to draw membership, etc.)
2 ) showing up when noone else would (outside of maybe fuentes, nobody else was trying to do this sort of thing, and he was such a polarizing figure, who also didn't appeal to a sense of explicitly White Nationalist politics)
People were willing to give them waaaaaayyy too much leeway off of those 2 criteria alone. -

Amerikaner has some alright stuff. They aren't as aggressive with with forcing an editorial line as trs was, and the primary focus seems to be "entertainment with some news shows if that's more your thing". Very much like trs from ~10 years ago kind of feel to it, if that's up your alley -
