Excuse me, but terrorism would entail targeting noncombatants, as Hamas did during its most recent massacre of Israelis.

No, Israel is targeting Hamas but failing to avoid collateral damage. This is partially because Netanyahu cares very little about Palestinian lives. But mostly it's because Hamas cares even less and are using Gazans as human shields, which is a war crime.

Israel is killing civilians in Gaza as a side-effect of retaliating against Hamas. In particular, it is a side-effect of the fact that Hamas is using Gazans as human shields.

You can (and should) argue that Israel should actively avoid harming civilians as opposed to being indifferent. You can't argue that what they're doing is equivalent to Hamas' intentional targeting of civilians.

In this video, #VladVexler spends over half an hour talking about and around (but mostly around) the issue of whether "from the river to the sea" implies genocide or at least ethnic cleansing.

His conclusion is that it does sometimes but not other times and it depends who's saying it, sometimes, which isn't really a conclusion. He suggests that, due to this ambiguity, it's a poor choice, regardless.
