   Israel is killing civilians in Gaza as a side-effect of retaliating against Hamas. In particular, it is a side-effect of the fact that Hamas is using Gazans as human shields.

   You can (and should) argue that Israel should actively avoid harming civilians as opposed to being indifferent. You can't argue that what they're doing is equivalent to Hamas' intentional targeting of civilians.

     My daughter is 9.

     I can't get beyond the rape and murder of Israeli women and children hostages by Hamas.

     There is no justification for rape in war.
