Yes, capitalism greatly reduces the potential of games. Sony's prudence, sure, it's quintessentially corporate, but why don't GamerGaters ever show interest in how 20 years ago 30 year old white guy protagonist was a defacto law for games? Why don't they question why military shooters that show the soviet union or cuba favourably are (still!) unfundable? They only want their ideology in games, they want to "win", not a healthy medium

This is a profound accusation that should be exclusive to cases that are unambiguous. I don't exactly know if this person is attempting this, it could also be projection ("transgender identity works for me so it'll work for you") or just aesthetic preferences outside sexuality. @meso well then I hope you will come to terms with it eventually, it really comes off like projection and it just gives bad vibes. Ever since I introduced "actual fedi" into this Mastodong instance I try to balance out the different cohorts in a pragmatic manner, I really dislike Fediblock witchhunts but I don't want to flood "Federated" with slurs exclusively. I think the sheer amount of your use of the word doesn't look like ironic pragmatism but a fair share of bitterness about it

@arcanicanis What I observed is that many fediblock evangelists use proprietary social media monopolists to get a sense of "public marketplace", arguing polemically about politics, economy, culture and follow edgy people over there, but on Fedi they insist that this is their "feel good" social media feed and should be universally sterile to contrast their awful feed on the other platform.
As for myself Fedi is the only social media I use and yes, I want it to be universal and open
