Signal is open source too, but have been very open about their infrastructure, and they don't have access to your data.

For the record, I'm gen x, and I worked hard, but I also understand the role of luck, timing, and external economic forces out of our control.
I don't pretend to have knowledge that I can't possibly have, or everything is all this way or that way, just because some Internet bullshitter is telling me it is, and to classify an entire group of ppl and their experiences as if they're all the same.

So not every genxer is a DF who likes to think they're special. 😂

What makes the "work ethic" thing even more poisoned in America is it's been used as a shame tactic in what would otherwise be normal labor/contract negotiations to get you to make something for $2k that's worth $20k.
