     I believe the usury prohibition is connected to prohibition on graven images and basically that making money from having money is inherently evil even in small amounts.

     The constant redefinition of words is so infuriating. This'll be the last thing about religion I say on the matter, but I'm just so disenchanted by Christianity given that they ignore the fact that the only time Jesus used violence was to flip tables and beat back the money changers.

     But nobody gives a shit, everyone's cool with it, obviously Jesus was wrong. /s

     @greyknight33 @jazzilla Ha, another thing about modern religion I find infuriating. Nobody gives a shit about usury anymore, or at least very, very few talk about it. I digress though, this conversation isn't about religion.

     @eriner @jazzilla not sure if USD even matters. regardless of what BTC does, what about any other assets: stocks, commodities, real estate, etc?

     @greyknight33 @jazzilla Denominator of stocks are made up too. Read up on FTDs, illegal naked short-selling, and Cede & Co. Unless a stock is in your name at the transfer agent, you don't own it and Cede & Co can make up whatever numbers they want as long as the vast majority is in street name.

     Commodities have value, but only if you're bartering and not exchanging for funny $.

     Real Estate, while there is finite quantity, is a joke until the fifth amendment is changed to repeal eminent domain.

     @eriner @jazzilla sounds the same as BTC them. i'm not concerned about the safety of the assets. gov't can send troops to my door and waste my ass if they really want the assets. just thinking in general market. it seems if you aren't long USD (keeping cash in your mattress) then you're pretty good.

     tho nasty inflation makes me think of the bond market 😬

     @greyknight33 @jazzilla You can't change the denominator of BTC. In theory it could be changed, but it would have to be with the consent of the network operators (51%, true democracy) as opposed to an oligopoly of corrupt government employees.

     So until that happens, the denominator is and will remain 21m
