More than that, it's dangerous. You could get stuck in the middle of nowhere, late at night, with a flat battery.

MarkusL (markusl@fosstodon.org)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Jul-2023 22:21:08 JST MarkusL @aral Thanks for the nudge, Aral. We moved into a house with granite worktops in the kitchen, and granite emits radon. It's past time I checked it.
Do you have any tips on buying a radon sensor?

Performance matters because carbon emissions matter. Performance matters because people with limited hardware resources matter. Writing slow, sloppy, wasteful code is just basic lack of respect.

If you want to know why some shops offer free WiFi to their customers, this is the reason: it improves tracking accuracy.
Always turn off both WiFi and Bluetooth when you're out and about. Turn them on only when you're in places you trust.

One such person doesn't know he runs Linux, or what Linux is, or what a browser is. He just knows he can use his computer for home banking and that there's still money in his account.
The less people know about computers, the more dangerous it is to give them #MicrosoftWindows.
