@piggo @oshy @lain There are 2000 models of Android phones big and small. There are 2 models per year of iPhones, and they canceled the Mini because people didn't buy it. -

@Moon @coolboymew Friendica is safe from the hypothetical circular quote attack: a quoted quote turns into a simple blockquote rather than a full post and the chain does not go deeper. -

@oh8hub "Nobody is forced to use it" is always used as an argument for convenience over openness and interoperability and it's only mostly true at best.

@methyltheobromine Friendica has stable AP support since about 4 years. I don't remember it being shaky even in the first couple of months, it worked pretty well out of the gate.
The only issue was that it took Friendica about a year to get AP, but it took Mastodon and Pleroma about half a year to discontinue OStatus, so there was a bit of a gap.

Anyone using WeChat on Linux?
Apparently Web WeChat is discontinued. I tried WeChat for Windows in Wine, installed fine but crashed immediately when run. I tried wewechat, but it segfaulted.
A friend has contacts that only use WeChat and want to send big files.

@dgar I loved this the first time I saw it, but people who know better than me say it's actually a terrible idea.
The ramp is not safe to navigate and if you use it you have to potentially cross a crowd over and over, inconveniencing everyone.
A for inspiration, F for no checking at all with the people it's supposed to benefit.
