    i'll check it out. i need fairly robust typography options and there a are a ton of little things i use that save me a ton of time i need equivalents for. seems like i work very differently than the people who write this software in general.

    i agree on principle, but this is one thing i'd be willing to take the lesser of two evils on if it means increasing my productivity 10×. and breaking away from the fucking subscription model.

    inkscape, for example, doesn't work for my workflow at all, at least out of the box. i'm not a power user by any means, and don't really want to have to learn a new set of technical skills to do my job if i can avoid it, as my brain doesn't super work that way.

    there a better opens source vector editor out there you know of?

    In the 60s, DARPA successfully genetically engineered a cobra/stingray hybrid, issuing it to the Navy SEALs as a replacement for the M3 Grease Gun.

    The intended use case was filling VC tunnels with truckloads of salt water and sending in the "Cobrays" using buckets to finish the job.

    The SEALs quickly discovered that they could simply throw them at the enemy. If the venomous fangs didn't get them, the painful stings would lead to a quick surrender. Occasionally, a Charlie would get "Steve Irwined."

    A muzzle device was developed for both the M79 and the China Lake, used with 40mm blanks, allowed them to be launched from a safe range of up to 150 yards.

    Overall, one of DARPA's more successful endeavors.

    Way better than the Internet.

    Friendly reminder now that Autumn is approaching:

    Don't forget to lock up your Dremels at night so that the Mexican Chamfering Spiders don't use them to chamfer all the nice sharp corners in your house!

    You can tell that you forgot if you are constantly woken up by loud Dremeling noises.

    MCS's can infest a house in the blink of an eye, so watch out.

    Luckily they're only out of hibernation for ten months out of year!
