anyone here successfully switch from illustrator to affinity designer?
i'm thinking about finally trying to completely de-adobify my workflow in the coming months and wanna hear about annoying differences and such.

affinity designer is proprietary software and shouldn't be used by anyone

i agree on principle, but this is one thing i'd be willing to take the lesser of two evils on if it means increasing my productivity 10×. and breaking away from the fucking subscription model.
inkscape, for example, doesn't work for my workflow at all, at least out of the box. i'm not a power user by any means, and don't really want to have to learn a new set of technical skills to do my job if i can avoid it, as my brain doesn't super work that way.
there a better opens source vector editor out there you know of?

what about krita?

@jeffcliff @mu based krita

@Zerglingman @jeffcliff @mu
It's super comfy to draw with, but do not use it for anything design related, even making retarded memes in it is... pain 🥺
-
@lonelyowl @mu @jeffcliff That's exactly what I use it for though.

if it doesn't work for some reason, be as specific as you can as far as why - it might be that there's some functionality that it needs in order to be suitable for you, and the better we can identify what that is the more likely it can be fixed

i'll check it out. i need fairly robust typography options and there a are a ton of little things i use that save me a ton of time i need equivalents for. seems like i work very differently than the people who write this software in general.
'preciate y'all.
