Also, I'm curious who is the guy in #2 and #3 supposed to be modeled after (normal person/KIA shirt)? -

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 12-Oct-2023 11:40:10 JST Cayhr @Minty Yeah, it's possible that they decided to cut a lot of the sprite animations from the 3d models because it was too much development time. Again, as Blizzard has shown, you CAN get close to 2d animation principles via 3d. It's just much more of a focus to get those animations right when it's the whole screen played many times versus a tiny unit on the field.
It's okay, kaiju nekomata in 3d is great to watch :kekw:

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 12-Oct-2023 11:02:13 JST Cayhr @cris1010 This is similar to the sentiment for Starcraft's transition from sprites to 3d. Personally I don't mind either, and honestly I want to dabble in 3d myself for a lot of practical reasons like being able to reuse animations for similar skeletons and things like that. I think 3d can get close to the charm of 2d, but it's going to take some very serious polish to achieve the same snappiness of hand drawn animation principles.

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 12-Oct-2023 07:18:39 JST Cayhr @Vidmastereon Fair enough, Nova3 has a dishonest approach entirely. I think the deceptive jump here is trying to equate a translated phrase of "outside the frame of men and women" to "non-binary", as indicated by Nova3's use of the abbreviation "nb". And yet, in the original script, "non-binary" is nowhere to be seen, as pointed out by Kyonko. This means the original writing and thus the intent by the original writers (aka the source material) don't acknowledge the concept of being "non-binary" at all.
Even if a character like Enkidu exists, the base human binary still exists with all of the other servants. A magical outlier (in a fictional IP nonetheless) has not invalidated normal understanding of humans lol

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 12-Oct-2023 06:53:40 JST Cayhr @Kyonko802 I think the jump Nova3 is trying to make here is "does not fit in the frame of men and women" must imply the concept of "non-binary." Perhaps the missing variable here is the intent of the writers. I think Nova3 is projecting his confirmation bias on the writing. Does not being in the frame of men and women mean literally? Being a machine, being a clump of dirt, being non-possessive of a human or otherwise humanlike body? Or strange circumstances, such as a person that has the body of a woman but the mind of a man and vice-versa?
The question is: Did the writers intend to imply a third or otherwise state of being that contradicts the binary of humans? Perhaps the script would have used the words male and female instead. After all, male and female are terms given to the two halves of a sexually dimorphic species, especially ours, and funnily enough, the meaning of man and woman is ambiguous at best and undefined at worst in the left's lexicon.

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 12-Oct-2023 06:21:24 JST Cayhr @lapin I mean, technically correct, right? There's the one guy made of clay or whatever. But even then, he's still referred to as something. Well, in my mind I instantly think of "he", despite him looking androgynous.
Still, I don't think these people fail to understand that, yeah, their ideological enemies actually never did care until THEY invaded. They just cannot understand they are the problem that desperately need their delusions validated via fictional material. A "non-binary" character in fiction, especially animated clay or a fucking robot, does not validate the false idea that it exists IRL, lol.
Also, saying Davinci is trans is as valid as saying Cagliostro frorm GranBlue is trans, or Mai from Blaz Blue being trans. From my understanding, permanently harmful, delusion affirming surgeries =/= magical transformations into the other sex. A genuine storytelling opportunity for strange ideas is, yeah, would a man that is permanently in a genuine female body be able to or eventually fully embrace the female persona? But of course, we know... there are weirdos out there to use it to validate their real world delusions...
