@nytpu @Hayden @foone @cadey wait is this two-way? Can a pdf with vector data be a valid tiff with a header change or am I misinterpreting what you're saying? I know tiffs are weird enough to allow jpeg data inside (just like wavs can contain mp3, but good luck finding a non-ffplay player that will play them).

@foone @cadey If you told me that some software could open those anyway because of a weird quirk in the pdf specification, I'd have no choice but to believe you.

@nixCraft I think part of it is people just being weirded out by the white space thing, but it's such a perfect beginner language that's also a professional language.

@nixCraft I read that book from front to back and was glad that I did. Regex isn't the sort of thing that changes a lot (and one often has to deal with incomplete implementations). It's not like an old book on RoR where it was obsolete 2 years after it was written.

@Gargron @mfierst ah yeah I guess that is confusing coming from 135. I don't know how the Pentax is but for both of my Mamiyas, you just keep advancing until you get to 0 (and rest easy knowing you're just exposing paper).

@Gargron maybe I've just gotten used to it but to me 120 doesn't have a lot of the frustrations that 135 has given me since I was a kid. I appreciate that I don't have to use special tricks (that only work on certain cameras) to get the maximum photos out of the roll and still end up wasting some film. 220 on the other hand... that's the worst of both worlds.

@Gargron I still use the AE-1 (not program) that was used to take baby photos of me.
