It's not my place to comment on other projects, but as the only recipient of the @pixelfed open collective, I'm glad this is a solo project

Yeah I have an obvious conflict of interest as the sole person who can approve expenses

But at the same time, I'm the only one who writes code for Pixelfed, FediDB, fediverse.info and the dozen other projects in our ecosystem

Pixelfed Autospam has eliminated over 18K spam posts on pixelfed.social with an accuracy of 95%

The next step is to move beyond local and public only posts to non-public posts, remote posts and metadata like image alt text

We are sampling 5% of remote and non-public posts on pixelfed.social and logging detections (without taking action) for the next two weeks, the results will be made public later.

@clovis It's a new attribute for actors that applies to activities but isn't included in activities, its an actor attribute!

@smallcircles Yes Mastodon #fullTextSearch will be opt-in as well from our understanding!

We're following their lead on this even though we don't support full text search yet.

✨ Opt-in `indexable` search support has landed in Pixelfed!

This means we'll be compatible with Mastodon's new #fullTextSearch feature, and it is opt-in so you have to navigate to Settings -> Privacy and then enable "Include public posts in search results"!

We do not support full text search yet, but it's on the list ⚡

Admins will be able to monetize, but it's not for us as the project to decide, we'll leave that to each admin to decide.

Meanwhile, on the fediverse, it's really the people, the non-developers, who really push the envelope and the fediverse forward in many ways
