anarchists are just people who want to unfuck the world while also having tactical and realistic beliefs about power

I'm sure straight to SciVal for sale.
Is this the way we want science to work? -

jonny (jonny@social.coop)'s status on Thursday, 16-Mar-2023 02:24:32 JST jonny friends, do I reach anyone who knows of writing about the cognitive design of single bar search, it's relationship to expectations about access to/organization of information on the web, and its relationship in facilitating technologies like context infill via surveillance and structured query parsing via #SemanticWeb tech?
#STS, #MediaStudies, #HCI, or any critical socio technical perspective welcome :)

jonny (jonny@social.coop)'s status on Sunday, 19-Feb-2023 09:42:14 JST jonny idk if enough people appreciate the double-sided nature of #AI Dogshit and search engines/info companies. It's a classic grift: invent the disease and sell the cure.
Making tools to generate massive amounts of fake information is actually great for business, because then only Google and Microsoft can afford to invest in filtering it from their search results. So they win both ways: chat AI can feed you bad info, but you can still only access good info through them.

jonny (jonny@social.coop)'s status on Sunday, 12-Feb-2023 17:51:17 JST jonny people keep spending too much time thinking about what a technology *is* and not enough about *who owns it and how they profit from it.*
and even less time thinking about *how they can destroy that property relation and liberate the underlying technology* if it's useful

jonny (jonny@social.coop)'s status on Sunday, 05-Feb-2023 02:57:29 JST jonny why the heck do some #p2p protocols get hung up on discoverability with a single method, isn't that what ended up happening with #BitTorrent anyway? trackers, but also DHT, PEX, multitracker announces, hole punching, etc.
esp. with identified peers/signed data, I want to be able to be able to do global peer exchange, but then also be able to have specified shibboleth friend peers who can point to and sign for me, point with a rel="me" from a URL at me and my servers and my friends servers...
