     @jonny My local hackerspace has a machine that you can adjust its output with a dial, and you just wire it up as you need. I'd have to enquire about the details, such as the name that you could use to find it in a shop.
     It also has a huge box full of every possible adapter.

     Good choice... these start at around $50.... I have one for laptop repair when i get an oddball model i dont have a charger for. though its not something you want the cheapest of... Maybe get the $100 version. especially if trying to do something like charge a laptop where its pulling enough current to get the fans to go full speed.

     ok does anyone have a better system than just having every possible AC-DC inverter for the problem of "I sort of regularly have weird electronics that need power and can't remember what needs what"
