I would go one step further and say that what we see as the market selecting the fittest is actually a system that desperately relies on community, sharing, mutual aid and kindness, but which does not include those things in its metrics. They are unmeasured and invisible but without them the whole system would collapse.
@maegul@seachanger@Dangerous_beans yes I think it's been very interesting seeing how laboriously manual quote-tweets have been necessary over the past few days to do a good job of exposing racism.
@frankiesaxx@aral and I also see him making direct replies or comments to people being supportive. Stuff I only see because I follow both. Not in ways that get attention, but in ways that make me think he's trying to lift people up.
@aral@SuperDicq "have one fewer subsidiary". "Mount one less coup of a small resource rich country". Every little helps, even if you just reduce your footprint by one oil well.

An admin on mastodon.se wrote a blog saying they would tolerated Sweden Democrat supporters as long as they stick to the rules. One Swedish server, suedi.club, has defederated as a result and I think some non-Swedish ones have done so as well.
In many ways this 'new' debate parallels the ongoing debate over SD that we've seen since they were elected in 2010.
One thing Twitter was useful for as a journalist was finding politicians and other people who weren't returning your calls and shaming them for tweeting yet not getting back to you.
Of course other social media works for this too. I think I even chased Philippa Reinfeldt all the way to her instagram comments once (when she was a powerful Stockholm politician).
