They are inaccessible to anyone outside or below that social and economic strata. If you are in that economic class and craft then you are probably not struggling for female attention.
Someone that is terrified of the outside world is going to be unable to cope with the hard lifestyle downgrade that goes with family formation particularly in these economic times.

@sjw @matrix You need just enough voltage to bias the field coil and you can get that from a primitive acid battery.
