#GlennBeck is said to be announcing some move by #TheBlaze tomorrow at 9 AM to fight #BigTech censorship. I suspect they may launch some sort of social media platform? Prolly won’t connect to the #Fediverse though.

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick It’s actually always bothered me until a couple weeks ago, when a friend told me that the point of the Jefferson Bible wasn’t to remove texts he didn’t accept, but rather to make a simplified, condensed version of the Scriptures to share with the Native Americans.

so for example, with the beheaded babies story, there were multiple individual sources saying it both did happen and that it didn’t happen, so I’ve filed that away under “probably happened, but disputed”

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick Essentially, accept two sources for something (at least) before believing it, but it is okay to accept one source if other sources have been known to lie about such things before. That’s the principle I go by.

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick But in all seriousness you do have a point here. I usually take reports with a grain of salt unless confirmed by both sides’ governments or multiple reporters, unless it comes to whether or not aid has been provided or civilians have been targeted

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick I don’t think it’s helpful to distrust the media so much that you don’t believe that anything is going on at all. It’s possible to know what happened without being there, but I also understand that these acts from #Hamas are pretty heinous things to accept.

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick I know enough about what #Hamas did in this instance that I don’t need to understand what happened before in order to root for the other side. Now the conflict between #Israel and #Palestine, conversely, is something I’ve always wanted to have an informed opinion on. I have always supported #Israel’s sovereignty but not their government in all cases, but I have not completed the research I’ve been planning on doing.

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick We’ll see the thing is though, even putting the beheaded babies claim to the side (to be fair it’s disputed), the tactics #Hamas is using are specifically to incite terror. While it’s sparked a war, I’m not sure if one could call it standard war tactics or behavior.

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick Coping with the attack. There are people who supported the #FreePalestine movement far before the #Hamas attack that are struggling to come to terms with their attack on the civilians, even over a week after it happened. It’s sad to see.

@thatguyoverthere @SirHendrick That is a fair point. One must admit though, that only one of these sides is beheading children and setting them on fire, and it’s not #Israel.
