@SwiftOnSecurity Mastodon does not have VC funding. This was probably meant as a joke but I already see others take it seriously in the replies, so clarifying.

@maikel @robustjumprope Quiet public posts don't just show up in the home feed. They're publicly accessible to anyone with a link, appear on your profile, and can appear in external search engines. Calling them "Home" would be deceptive, and confusing, because "Home" could also easily mean followers-only.

@forteller @bigzaphod It's not a magic spell that will automatically prevent you from posting memes. It just gives us wiggle room to moderate reported content.

@bigzaphod Memes are not the target of this rule. There's quite an obvious difference between a meme and someone reposting someone else's artwork without credit.

We've updated the rules of our flagship server mastodon.social today. Most are the same with some clarifications, but one rule is new: Content created by others must be attributed, and use of AI must be disclosed. Profiles that only post AI-generated content will not be tolerated.

@lisamelton There are still back buttons, they've just moved to a more natural position at the start of the line. Which notification types were you filtering by?

@thisismissem In my experience that page is not very well known, and right above where notifications are should be more discoverable.

@cafechatnoir Yes. There are too many different notification types nowadays for that level of granularity to make sense, and All / Mentions covers the most important and common uses.

We've rolled out a new feature on mastodon.social. You now have access to notification settings and can decide who you want to get notifications from. Everyone else will be put into notification requests you can peruse separately. There's a fresh coat of paint as well!

@corvax Everything depends on the numbers. There’s a minimum of 500 units per batch. If 500 is all there’s demand for, then we won’t be able to have different colors.

@RaffKarva @opensoul 2 GBP for a 35cm stuffed toy is not a realistic expectation. What materials and working conditions would be necessary to make it that cheap? It's just not possible.
