New #Quansheng announced.
10m/6m/2m/70cm Quadband with 0.5 - 1160MHz wide receive. AMF/FM/SSB receive and likely only FM TX, like usual.
Also 6m/2m/70cm tribander with the same wide RX.
Sadly no #23cm even on receive.
Will be interesting to see what price point these end up on.

I'm tempted on and off by their FY-6900 model. But so far not pulled the trigger on it. -

User interface is complete dogshit.
And they are for low frequencies.
Only DDS signal generator I have encountered where you get to set the clocks up yourself.
Opaque menu hell of <75kHz output.
I'm not sure I got any of them to reliably produce anything else than 3.4444kHz.
Infuriating things.
And too light to make good door stops. -

Good to hear that it is usable.Sorry about the false alarm. It looked a bit too much like these.

This thing.
The large amount of BNC.s small display and the buttons look like the few Wavetek turds we have at the radio club. -

Do you have one of those awful Wavetek DDS signal generators?
Because it looks like one.
And I have never managed to coax anything useful out of one. -

Ah. Mine is once again in it's natural, entropic state. -

Is that from 2020? Because that looks clean. -

This was a product that came to the market like 15years ago or something. It seemed to flop rather hard. -

No power yet, as the TX side of that radio is nowhere near working yet. Also need to buy more large tips for the radio clubs big, good iron.
The weller used here was just not enough. -

Are there any other SOT-89 chips with "J8" as datecode or something? Those would have intact markings.Annoyingly Richtek has used "J8" for SOT-89 3.3V LDO regulators, but Richtek was likely not around when that laptop was made.
As Richtek was founded in 1998.
SeeingIt does look very regulator like, but if the 886-23255862 chip is a DC-DC controller in addition to the TL494C PWM controller already on the board.
