We need a new core subject in the college, that all people, but especially English / writting majors are forced to take. It'll be called 'How Normal Humans Behave 100'.
I firmly believe the of the main reasons so many stories written today are trash and garbage. Everyone is under-socialized. No one who writes stuff has ever seriously interacted with real humans on any level past the internet. It makes everything groan worthy.
Like this other day I wanted to watch some people play a specific table top game, just to get a better idea of how it would go. Instead I came away from it hating the game, not because of the game, but the people. Constant pronouns trash, lots of "I was raised in a house engaged in and rewarded acts of baby murder, wanton rape, and the slave trade... but I am an individual and so firmly believe in post WWII neoliberal social values and equality because that's just right... but I'm still evil because I say fuck a lot and want to summon a demon for some reason." -

@Azur_Fenix @Frondeur @white_male @noah @luithe What goes into picking a base normally is whatever land the country is willing to give them. Usually it's some sort of lease agreement for the land and/or facilities, or something like that.
Take Yakota AFB near Tokyo. It doesn't have a permanent fighter squadron or anything to protect it, aside from MP's and whatever the host nation uses for security. The purpose of the base is to move stuff around globally. That's it. In a time of serious war that would change, but atm it's nothing but a big airport, with the usual security that any airport has, and a gated community for it's workers and family. Kadena in Okinawa projects more power into the region, but even then it's primary purpose is to move resources. Power projection.
Now can the US use that base for gay-ops in the region, especially locally to the base? Totally. In fact, we know they do it, but this method of projecting power is different from what people might imagine. The US does not send troops to patrol the streets of Tokyo, for instance. -

What I'm saying is that these bases are not like castles or something. They're like air ports. A lot of them are literally air ports. -

@Frondeur @white_male @Azur_Fenix @noah @luithe A lot of them are for transporting goods, and often are little more than a runway or harbor. The real power of the US military is that, in theory, it can deploy thousands of troops, planes, and ships in your nation withing a week if it needs to, which is what those bases are for. -

@noah @luithe You need to organize now while you still can to stop this from getting any worse over there, because they will make it almost impossible for you to organize peacefully, or to even share information about what's being done to you and your nation.
American's during the 2010's were very good at documenting how America declined as a nation culturally and demographically. It is very difficult to find today, but if you can, translating it will proved a great amount of material to share with others. -

@Azur_Fenix @noah @luithe All very accurate, but I do think that Japan is a bit of a puppet of the US (though not exactly a colony). It's sort of like a dog walking close to it's master. He has a loose leash until he tries to walk away. -

@Moto_Chagatai It's a shame that Metokur isn't doing videos anymore. Kpop fans are the tumblrinas of this era. One of the more interesting thing's I've seen from them is how they'll list off all of the eating disorders they have, their use of tone tags, as well was their wild DNI (do not interact) lists (over eaters should not interact with me because I'm bulimic). -

Also it was exactly that, the bad guys pretended to be fellow humans in order to pacify, control, and stop them from breeding with antinatalism. When their cover was blown, they literally did the "don't be a hateful bigot, diversity is your greatest strength". -

Honestly, just hire anyone who has an interesting voice, or someone from a local community theater. They'll sound better than 90% of the awful va's we hear these days. -
