    @Flick is the hole for this kind of thing usually smaller? Do you use a drill or something to avoid cracks forming? Maybe when they were making it the material around the hole broke away but still left enough egg to work. It doesn't have a base AFAIK so maybe I should make one like in that other picture. I don't have it on display anywhere because I feel like it's going to get knocked over but with a base that's a little less of a concern. Should be fairly simple to make one using a tiny piece of scrap I have laying around already.

    @Flick there aren't any casting marks that would lend to the ceramic idea. The hole on the bottom is somewhat irregular which kind of support it being an egg shell. No idea where I got it. Probably belonged to my dad.

    Could be a ceramic replica of some kind but i know there is some art that uses real egg shells and the dimensions seem about right for goose. I'll have to compare when mine start laying again.

    Is this a real egg? Seems about the same size as a goose egg with a hollow middle but it's thicker than egg shell (perhaps multiple coats of finish)
