:afire: Third Man :afire: (anonaccount@poa.st)'s status on Saturday, 08-Jun-2024 11:17:17 JST :afire: Third Man :afire: >Isn’t that nice. We’re aging into oblivion. Here are population projections from next year until 2060 for “non-Hispanic whites.”
>We aren’t even just white, anymore. We’re “non-Hispanic” because plenty of people from Latin America who are not white claim they are. We are now just under 58 percent. We drop to fewer than half by 2045. And this projection starts only with next year.
>This is where we really came from.
>In the 1960s, when whites were 90 percent of the population and the undisputed political and cultural arbiters. This gives you a better idea of what happened. And it happened in my lifetime. It is entirely accurate to call it a Great Replacement, the replacement of one people by different people. No one asked me if I wanted that, and if I point out that it’s happening, apparently, I’m a dangerous nut.
>It’s not just immigration. Ever since 2016, there have more deaths than births for white Americans. This graph shows you the results for the decade of 2010 to 2020.
>Look on the left. Even with a small amount of net white immigration, our absolute numbers dropped, as you can see in the red lines that dip below zero. And those red lines will only get longer. As you can see to the right, populations of every other race grew. Hispanics rollicked along, adding about one million every year, and Asians and blacks are increasing, too. The rate of increase declined because President Trump put the brakes on immigration. But I promise you: numbers for non-whites have shot up under Mr. Biden.
>Here’s what happened from 2020 to 2021, during Covid and very little immigration.
>See whites, second group from the left? That blue pimple is net migration. That plunging orange line means there were nearly one million more deaths of white people than white babies born. Everyone else had nice increases.
>The age distribution is against us.
>Whites, in gray, are below the 50 percent line for all ages up to 18. And even at the very right end — the geezers — we’re still not even 80 percent. The median age of whites is 44, Asians 38, blacks 35, and Hispanics, just 30 — 14 years younger than the median white. More white deaths and fewer white births every year, and giant crowds crossing the border. The Great Replacement is in high gear. Even if immigration stopped tomorrow, replacement would go on.
>And it changes everything. Look at the voter population. Over on the left, whites are the light brown bars.
>Just since 1996, the white percentage dropped from 85 to 67 percent. And it keeps dropping. Non-whites, who overwhelmingly vote Democrat, swing elections.
>When was the last time a majority of whites voted for a Democrat for president? Sixty years ago, in 1964. Lyndon Johnson. Since then, every Democrat president got only a minority of the white vote. Non-whites put them in the White House. Whites didn’t get the president they wanted. They didn’t want Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton or Barack Obama or Joe Biden.

>In a press conference on Thursday, the conservative Party for Freedom (PVV) leader listed a range of measures the new coalition would be adopting, including a push to opt out of the European Union’s controversial asylum and migration pact approved earlier this week.
>“The sun is starting to shine again in the Netherlands,” Wilders told press as he announced the right-wing administration would prioritize reform of an asylum policy that has left public services saturated and sparked a shift to the right in November’s election.
>“A lot is going to change. There will be an asylum crisis law. There will be border controls. There will be a ban on the priority of social housing for status holders,” he said.
>The PVV leader hinted at Dutch opposition to the EU’s migration pact as he vowed to “fight for an opt-out on asylum in the European Union” and promised the abolition of “indefinite asylum permits.”
>But Wilders also painted a picture of the economic conservatism awaiting the country under the stewardship of the right-wing government, revealing the coalition agreement calls for billions in tax relief for Dutch workers, lower energy taxes, cuts to foreign aid, and a reduction in fuel tax from next year.
>In a blow to environmentalists, the Dutch politician announced a reversal of the requirement for heat pumps to replace gas boilers, a renewed focus on nuclear power, and a promise of greater support for farmers and fishermen in their fight against draconian measures brought in under the EU’s Green Deal.
>He also announced measures relating to healthcare reform including greater investment in social care for the elderly.
>It’s taken six months of talks between the four right-wing and center-right parties to come to an agreement following the landslide electoral victory for Wilders’ PVV late last year. The conservative politician had to abandon his hopes of becoming the successor to Mark Rutte as the next Dutch prime minister to get the agreement over the line after coalition partners expressed concern that he was too much of a divisive figure.
>Finally, an agreement was reached between Rutte’s former party, the conservative-liberal VVD now led by Dilan Yeşilgöz, the centrist New Social Contract headed by Pieter Omtzigt, and Caroline van der Plas’ Farmer-Citizen Movement.

Nevertheless, Silesian may now become Poland’s second regional language, together with Kashubian.
>This means that if the bill is signed by the president, the Silesian language is to be added to the act on national and ethnic minorities as the second regional language, alongside the Kashubian language. This includes the possibility of introducing optional Silesian language classes in schools, installing bilingual signs in localities where over 20 percent of the population declares the use of the Silesian language, and subsidizing activities related to the preservation of the Silesian language.
>The problem is that this is just the beginning of the movement to declare Silesians a nation, thereby a national minority which will demand that it has its own national narrative — a narrative that saw the invasion of Poland by Germany in 1939 as a form of liberation.
An offense to the sensibilities of the Polish victim theory, not the right nest to kick in Tusk's position.

Last week, officials at Columbia University called the cops to remove demonstrators who want the school to exit all investments that benefit the government of Israel amid the rising death toll in Gaza, which now stands at more than 34,000 according to local health officials. The war was sparked by the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel, in which militants killed around 1,200 people (mostly civilians), and took 250 hostages.
>Demonstrators have been setting up encampments which have swelled to hundreds of protesters who are demanding that their schools condemn Israel's assault on Gaza and divest from companies that sell weapons to Israel.
>Similar protests at Yale, MIT, and NYU, many of which occurred hours before the start of the Jewish holiday of Passover, have been met with crackdowns as well, as Jewish students say criticism of Israel and Zionism has turned into antisemitism that has made them feel unsafe, AP reports.
The naked face of Jewish ethnic affiliation is, like an eclipse, coming into view slowly but spectacularly. I would not go as far as declaring them the most important mobilization of the decade, but it is strong sentiment in the most favourable direction.

>"These 3D images show the sheer magnitude of the very difficult and challenging salvage operation ahead," the US Army Corps of Engineers said in a Facebook post.
>The post continued, "The underwater sonar imaging tool, known as CODA Octopus, is the primary survey tool used by divers, with visibility clouded to just one to two feet because of the four to five feet of mud and loose bottom of the Patapsco River."
>"Divers are forced to work in virtual darkness, because when lit, their view is similar to driving through a heavy snowfall at night with high-beam headlights on. So murky is the water, divers must be guided via detailed verbal directions from operators in vessels topside who are viewing real-time CODA imagery," Army Corps of Engineers pointed out.
>They added that "no usable underwater video exists of the wreckage" because, as one Navy diver put it, "there's no need to take video of something you can't even see."
>The complexity of this salvage operation suggests the main shipping channel will be closed for weeks if not months.

>Conducted by the Pollster Research Institute for the Super Express tabloid, the survey reveals a nation divided in its confidence in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s protective umbrella against potential aggression from Russia.
>According to the survey, 54 percent of respondents believe that NATO would shield Poland in such a scenario, underscoring a majority’s trust in the alliance. However, a significant portion of the population, 30 percent, expressed skepticism regarding NATO’s readiness to aid Poland, while 16 percent remained undecided on the matter.
>This ambivalence comes against the backdrop of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Kremlin’s aggressive policies in the region, alongside the intense U.S.-China rivalry that could potentially affect the American military presence in Poland in case of an attack.
>During a visit to Poland in February last year, U.S. President Joe Biden reiterated America’s commitment to NATO’s Article 5, describing it as a “sacred, unbreakable promise” to defend any NATO member state. Biden emphasized the United States’ readiness “to protect every inch” of NATO territory, affirming that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all.
>Despite skepticism in some quarters, former President Donald Trump has also assured that the U.S. would not abandon the alliance and would defend its members if attacked, contingent on NATO countries fulfilling their financial obligations.

There's been greater consensus of support for instead using the windfall profits gained from reinvesting Russian assets frozen in Europe to support the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.
>Days ago the The Wall Street Journal detailed that "Two-thirds of the roughly $300 billion in reserves were sitting in European banks and clearinghouses. As those assets mature and are reinvested, they have generated profits that EU officials say could reach 15 billion euros, equivalent to more than $16 billion, over the next four years." The blocked assets currently generate an estimated $3.6 billion of net profits per year.
>On Thursday the United States unveiled a new plan to allies centered on what are being dubbed "freedom bonds". The initiative would create a special purpose vehicle to issue at least $50 billion of bonds generated by the frozen assets, Bloomberg reports.
>Britain has meanwhile been at the forefront of countries arguing that the total of all underlying Russian assets should be fully confiscated and used for Ukraine. "Our view is simple: One day, Russia will have to pay reparations and it doesn’t make sense to wait for those reparations. It makes better sense to use the frozen assets and to make that money available now," UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron said last week.
>But this more aggressive approach has consistently met with firm resistance among the other powerful European allies.

>Online activists across X, Reddit, and other popular internet forums are spreading anti-Semitic conspiracy theories claiming that prominent Jewish-American leaders oppose TikTok because it has emerged as a central repository for anti-Israel criticism related to the war against Hamas.
>One X account with nearly a million followers pinned blame for the ban on Jonathan Greenblatt, the Jewish leader of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a watchdog group that has raised concerns about the prevalence of anti-Semitism on TikTok. The claims parrot classic examples of anti-Semitism alleging that Jews control politics and use this power to silence criticism of Israel. The emergence of this argument is raising concerns on Capitol Hill amid a massive rise in Jew-hatred across America in the wake of Hamas's Oct. 7 terror strikes on Israel.
>"Seeing Gen Z in the US overwhelmingly support Palestine in the face of Israeli aggression, TERRIFIED [Greenblatt]," wrote X user "Censored Men" in a March 13 missive to more than 983,000 followers. "Is it such a coincidence that today the 'TikTok Ban Bill' passes after MONTHS of congress pushing for it so heavily?"
>"With the speed they moved to ban TikTok, there is 0 doubt in my mind pro-Israel lobbying groups are behind the pressure," wrote another X user, "Lolo," to more than 155,000 followers. "Israel has been getting absolutely cooked on TikTok the last few months and it doesn't help that their own bozo soldiers are posting videos of them doing war crimes once a week."
>This type of rhetoric has flourished on X, as well as other internet forums, since the House passed its version of the TikTok ban last week. The legislation is now in the Senate. Its chief Republican backer, Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.), says the rhetoric is evidence that the Chinese Communist Party is using TikTok to foment unrest in American and promote inflammatory propaganda.
>"I understand why they love TikTok," Rubio said. "The Chinese-controlled app amplifies their views because Beijing wants to divide and weaken America from within. We can debate Middle East policy, but we shouldn't give the Chinese Communist Party—a group actively committing genocide against Muslims—the ability to control that debate."
>"Wow! I am fucking SHOCKED that Dems are voting to ban Tik Tok. This is AIPAC at work," Democrat Pamela Keith, a former Florida state lawmaker, wrote last week on X.

The difference is that progressives lost no time to exploit quickly the situation to suppress their political enemies as "friends of [the] Russians" and especially so if related to Trump and to anti-immigration sentiment, bringing previously unpalatable ideas such as a economically integrated globalist EU superstate and drastic free speech curtailing in the European political debate by force, while conservatives and nationalists flip-flopped from one side to the other or relented. The reason the ostinate pro-Ukrainian sentiment is drastically decreasing in the media and elsewhere is that this gamble was lost, because European populations do not believe in major Ukrainian chances of victory and these control attempts were also resisted with the rise of right-wing nationalism as thematically represented by AfD and the farmer revolts, which means that there needs to be a major backtrack while preserving the phobic sentiment that these two years fostered.
