The original BS Zelda used various remixes made by various artists. One of them was interesting as it was done by Americans and even had English lyrics.

@coolboymew @PurpCat Maybe it's more profitable to have their own app and collect data so they can advertise their own games to you directly. The app is linked to your Nintendo account.

@PurpCat @SuperSnekFriend @coolboymew Yeah. There was an orchestrated soundtrack for A Link To The Past known as The Legend of Zelda: Sound and Drama. It also acts as an extended universe for the game as there are sound dramas that explain backstories for the game's characters. The music was even used in the Satellaview games.

@coolboymew I noticed that most (if not all) Zelda soundtracks are Japan-only. The only Zelda soundtrack I know of that was released here was the 25th anniversary soundtrack that was bundled with Skyward Sword.

My younger brother really loved Link's Awakening for the Switch so I imported the soundtrack for him. It was really cool because it has soundtracks for both the Switch and GB games and has some really nice artwork.

@coolboymew I wouldn't mind if they just simply sold MP3s on the eShop or on iTunes (is that still around?). Or just buy actual CD soundtracks as they actually have a collectible value. I'm not subscribing to a proprietary service just to listen to music from a single company.

Also, you are better off staying away from YouTube and going to an actual VGM site like KHinsider as Nintendo is less likely to search for them.

On a related note, am I the only one who hates the narrators of these Nintendo ads?

@djsumdog I used to have one but the lightbulb wasn't strong enough to melt the wax and I don't think it was replaceable.

Here is some advice for any indie game developer who is drowning in the over-saturated market of indie games:

Port your game to an obscure operating system like BSD, Haiku, AmigaOS4, illumos, SerenityOS etc. There is a untapped market for games on those platforms and you can probably get a dedicated fanbase that way because those people would love to play something good, instead of Tux Racer. It's just like all the indie game companies who ported their games to Linux years before Linux even had a Steam port.

Unfortunately, this option is basically only available if you write your own engine and use tools that are ported to every platform known to man (like SDL), but I think it's worth it.

@Alex @beardalaxy I'd never liked them because they were always contrarian takes. Like I get it, niche communities have contrarian views but I think the whole virgin v chad memes (and their derivatives) took it to the absolute extreme. I think it's okay to like some mainstream things.

But admittedly, I think the "dodge then vs dodge now", "average x fan vs average y enjoyer", and "chad yes" memes are much worse because at least virgin vs chad gives reasons why their view is superior.

@beardalaxy Virtually every altchan bans or heavily discourages Pepe, Wojak, Virgin vs Chad, and TND posting because the admins realize how soulless 4chan has become.

@PurpCat I honestly don't trust any government to fork a kernel. More chance to put in a backdoor.

@djsumdog @menherahair @eriner It was probably easier to profit off of FOSS back before everyone had high-speed Internet because you could just sell the software on CD. Now you either have to have funding from a major company like Google, go the Patreon/Liberapay model, sell your software as a service, or bundle your software with hardware like System76.

@beardalaxy @RK7 I thought Trump is known to sit up straight most of the time. I kind of sit in the same position Trump usually sits when there is no desk in front of me. I even make that same "hand triangle" near my crotch just like him. I had a nurse point that out to me once.

Maybe he had to bend down slightly for the desk mic. I noticed that nobody was wearing headphones, but it's been a while since I've watched Joe Rogan.
