So Microsoft is renaming their Remote Desktop app as just "Windows App" and I'm now convinced marketing departments are just losing their minds across the industry.

PLEASE, car makers, smaller vehicles please. Why does everything have to be an SUV or a crossover or a truck of some sort.

I want something light and nimble that's also comfy and fun to drive. It feels like options are fewer and fewer.

Every generation, adults are afraid that the latest new thing will turn their kids' brains to mush.

Back in the 1930s, it was radio.

Then in the 1950s and 60s, it was television.

In the 80s and 90s, it was video games.

In the 2010s and now, it's stuff like Tiktok and using tablets.

In pretty much all cases, the fears were unfounded. We all (across time) turned out fine.

I think today's kids will turn out fine. They'll be different, they'll drive us adults insane, but they'll be fine. Such is life.

@nixCraft I have a printer I borrowed from work. It's an all in one, but the scanning part is messed up. I can print maybe 6-7 pages on it before it locks up and I have to restart it.

So definitely that last option. :)

@tek I wonder what their motivation was. I can't think of a single person who isn't annoyed by forced credential changing.

I really hate password/PIN code expiration. It WORSENS security, because you're forced to remember a new password/PIN and after forgetting it a few times will probably write it down. Or you might be tempted to use an easier to remember and less secure password.

NIST no longer recommends expiring credentials regularly. PLEASE STOP DOING THIS.
