   except when you want to use it for higher power charging rates, or use various features that require better cables but you don't know the cable isn't capable of it because all you can see is "USB-C" in the item description 😭
   
   @encthenet ran into some Anker USB-C cables recently that were actually USB2.0 but it didn't say anywhere on the packaging

     @feld @encthenet @zorinlynx I have one of those advanced power banks that show the charging wattage and it's crazy just how different each USB cable is. It's not even easy to see from the outside, some of them look sturdy but then charge with 0.1 watt.

     Longtime Apple customers annoyed at having to buy new charger cables are going to find that annoyance short-lived as they realize just how cheap and plentiful USB-C cables are due to lack of an Apple tax.
