I’m sympathetic to Tesla owners who've had their car for a while. If Akio Toyoda turned out to be a bastard, I wouldn't buy another new Toyota, but I’d continue to drive our current one until the wheels fall off. Same with Teslas. It's unreasonable to ask someone to get rid of their working, paid-for family transport. "Just sell it!”, but then the new buyer is some jerk driving a Tesla too, right? We can't just scrap all of them.

But. Any dipshit driving an Incel Camino just bought the thing.

My family and I are US citizens by birth. We live somewhere that many of our neighbors and friends are not.

Today I taught Tek Jr that if INS starts approaching them and their friends, TJ is to yell “la migra!” and run. When the thugs follow, their friends can run the other way. Doesn’t matter if Tek Jr gets caught; ain’t jack INS can do to them.

I can’t share too many of our stories -- statute of limitations not expired and all that -- but he had a way of finding hilarity in the most horrible, awful situations.

He was a construction contractor. One time he slipped and fell, finding himself suspended upside down by a piece of rebar through his, ahem, guy parts. He called me from the hospital and had me in tears laughing at it. Not just anyone could've done that.

I found out this morning that my best friend, Chad, died last week. We lived on opposite coasts and hadn't seen each other in a couple years, but still had long, rambling phone calls pretty regularly. We saw life through different lenses and disagreed on a great many things, but still found common ground to laugh about yet more.

He made his mistakes, but accepted his consequences and learned from them.

I love you, brother. I miss you already.

That loser (no really, he lost every case) set back the whole industry by several years when he tried to poison the reputation of Linux and Free Software. I shudder to imagine my career arc if he’d succeeded in destroying it.

The tire pressure light on our Toyota started coming on every time we drive. Each time I'd manually check the tires, and they'd all be identically and fully inflated. Got it into the shop today, and turns out they have battery powered sensors inside the tire, and one's battery had died (while the other 3 are on the verge). Cost to fix: about $500 including parts and labor.

Mechanic: Is the light driving you nuts?

Me: Y'all got some duck tape?

Mechanic: *tears off a piece and hands it to me*

Currently watching “Clerks”, the best Gen X movie by a wide margin, and I’ll die on that hill.
