I call 'em New Age Nazis. The saddest thing is that people don't think today's Nazis are capable of what their forebearers did, and as noted, won't call them what they are.

You really think it's hidden? It's always been there but it was OK - Clint Eastwood said in 2016 "When I grew up, those things weren't called racist."

They knew it was racist, but it was OK because no one called them out on it.

And it's still OK because you're the jerk if you call a racist a racist because everyone, even racists, know racists are bad people.

White supremacy was never hidden, it was (and is, for a large percentage of Americans) just normal and OK.

The Auschwitz Museum, citing Russia's ongoing assault on #Ukraine, chose not to invite #Russian representatives to their official ceremony Friday marking the day that the then-Soviet Union's Red Army liberated prisoners at the #Auschwitz #Nazi death camp.

"Russia will need an extremely long time and very deep self-examination after this conflict in order to return to gatherings of the civilized world," Piotr Sawicki, a spokesman for the museum, said.

Hope it's because of an influx, but I'm pretty sure #Mastodon is not a replacement for #Twitter. I've been here a few months and it's a completely different experience. I had a few thousand followers on that site and don't really expect to see (or really want) that here.

And I wonder what happens to Twitter when it goes bankrupt or it's owner loses interest - or both?

Twitter's demise is coming under somewhat different circumstances - it's not just people tiring of the platform.

I think I'm wondering partly because of all the whiners here complaining this isn't Twitter and those staying there despite whining about it.

Also, how are you seeing my toots without following me? The home feed? That's hard for me to get through. I tend to use lists.
