Reminds me of that one article about a company saving millions of dollars after moving away from cloud-stuff to running things locally on their own servers.
People, and especially bosses, are easily fooled by cloud-shit, and forget how much cheaper it is to run your own stuff.
Yeah. In Norway (and most civilized countries) you are forced by law to hire the most capable person for the job. Having such a specific requirement makes it easy for the boss of a company to say "I hired my second cousin's son instead of that guy with a master's degree because he was qualified for all points, while the person with a master's degree had a few months too much experience with Unreal Engine".
Yeah, I don't really get the reason for downloading the stuff and just keeping it encrypted.
I'm betting someone has downloaded every game on the eShop, as the Nintedo servers allowed every game to be downloaded, they just relied on people not being able to decrypt them… which modders were able to. https://github.com/Xpl0itU/WiiUDownloader
Thank you! They recovered all my files and reinstalled something they called "MacOS", no clue what that is, but apparently it's important on Apple Book Computer. They also told me that the command line is dangerous to use, even though I use it all the time, since it reminds me of MS-DOS. Apparently, since the Apple Computer folks are American they call it "trash" not "bin", so I have to delete /trash/ from now on!
