@coolboymew I'm convinced the news will be the end of physical media. What I would like to see is a return to what they originally proposed before the Xbox One launch, where digital games would be treated more like physical media.
@coolboymew Didn't they recently lay off workers from the Xbox division? If they quit then I will be both elated and devastated knowing a bad platform is leaving for an even worse one to monopolise it. Nintendo is its own thing.
Opal is a good friend of mine in need of financial support to keep the lights on. She offers technical services under the volatile.bz domain, covering Git, email, XMPP, Matrix, Mumble and a Tor relay.
In future, Volatile hopes to explore Nextcloud and running a fedi instance with custom software. Funds that can be spared would help make these a reality.

@mangeurdenuage More to the point is the oversimplification of token issues and RMS buying in to whatever left-leaning media publishes as headlines. I'd rather something nuanced that challenges my world view than a dumbed-down one that doesn't.
@mangeurdenuage That's not what I'm proposing. I've not known a time where there's been so much choice in what I can use to self-host or self-admin stuff at home. You have to make people care, not by persuasion, but by showing what's possible in reality. Essays on the dangers of black boxes aren't read by the people who will make the most impact.
@mangeurdenuage Hate to be that guy but these are things that have to be imposed externally alongside the possibility of explaining why they are reasonable. My home network uses encrypted DNS with AdGuard Home, for example. Nobody will set up their devices in a security-conscious way so it's down to me to find the balance on limiting the side-effects of questionable apps without impeding their ability to use them. I'm thankful GL-inet offers something that simplifies this process. I'm not sure imposing it on the devices themselves is the answer though.
@coolboymew Ruling party prioritises its own councils for funding. Councillors are not obliged to provide audited accounts of how tax is spent. It's the fault of all involved.
