that'll be fun.
what kinda pipe you have ?
i used to have an italian briarwood pipe.
something like a savinelli, but i forget. -

oh literally just now, i see that now.
dude.
pipe is interesting.
there's a whole gentle art to it.
you tamp the bowl. gently putting a thin layer in the bottom first.
btw, i'd really suggest not using screens. you dont need em. you can use SS, but the best way to season a pipe is to build a gentle and thin crust at the bottom.
if you use screens they tend to smoke too fast, and burn unevenly.
but so the basics
(i had a pipe for about 8 years. before i finally just stopped using it, btw.)
you put some tobacco in the bottom, press somewhat gently with the pinkey finger is best.
add another layer, gently press, lovingly pushing it towards the edges.
- add some more, and you really dont want to go above halfway up, alltogether.
its okay if it floofs past halfway but it'll burn too hot and or quick if you pack it further.
dont pack it dense, just, give it a gentle push in. it's not like herb, it just needs to be in there and somewhat moist.
-----
past that, i'd recommend getting a wiha #00 scewdriver, because it makes an excellent tamping tool, and you can even poke an airhole with the screwdriver end if you feel it necessary or learn to prefer it.
otherwise, you just get a spark in there, take a few draws, the jaw then releases it, and you sit there with the thing taking a gentle tug with your jaw/upper neck muscles every so often.
if you draw too frequently it will get harsh and you'll drool like a MF.
let it rest a bit if the case. pipes will smoulder for easily 4 minutes or so if you get your bowl dialed in.
it's enjoyable. an average session can last around 10 minutes or so, sometimes longer depending. -

ringo (ringo@talk-here.com)'s status on Wednesday, 21-Jun-2023 17:47:20 JST ringo oops.
i just installed nvidia-smi because i recognized the program name from some reading a few weeks ago and wanted to check some specs
then realized after hitting Y in apt that it's not what I wanted to do.
its grumbled about the missing packages for amdgpu.
which, clearly im using.
will apt-get --remove --purge nvidia-smi clear that and all the stuff it just installed ? or is it best to do it another way ?
derp.... -

the best programs run locally.
things on the web that run in an application layer should be stable enough to load the js once, and shut up and just run.
otherwise its wasting everyones time.
ironically: this is something big surveillance dreamt up and pushed on people over the last 15 years, and imho it's total garbage.
go is.... annoying. i ran writefreely over the last few years, i mean sure it runs as a webserver for itself fine, but its very limited in what it can do.
anyway, just driving by... really dont feel like discussing it :)

hard to say, i dont have time for 20+ whois's ... but what if they registered all of them and are trying to flood the fediverse to overpopulate it with a SnR that is too high to enjoy the place. as of yet threads.net isn't even loading.. my gander is it works just fine in some special app and they're waiting to iron out some horribly intended code before they attempt to turn on federation.
some kind of thing akin to a syn flood, perhaps.
