@mint @pernia Oldest one I have laying around is a Radeon 9800, not counting whatever Mac spec card is in my Quicksilver 2002 G4. Actually, I'd be curious whether PCI passthrough would work with a card like that and whether qemu-system-ppc mac99 Open Firmware would cooperate, if it did, I have some options open to me...

@mint @pernia The only definitively Wayland related issue I'm having right now is that keyboard capture is broken on GNOME 43, allegedly a fix has been pushed through GNOME 44 and Fedora backports but I haven't seen it yet.

@mint @pernia 86box falls off pretty hard after Pentium MMX or so, Bochs handles newer hardware to a substantial extent. Also lol, I'm gonna pretty solidly put the blame on Oracle here because VirtualBox is a pile of hacks upon hacks anyway and requires a third party kernel module to function, where QEMU or nearly anything else doesn't.

@pernia You joke, but bochs is actually lit. I mostly use virt-manager with libvirt kvm now tho. (as an aside, I've unironically considered "bochs win2k running vpc2007" as an emulation strategy for 9x)

  The Common Lisp Object System (CLOS) is the facility for object-oriented programming which is part of ANSI Common Lisp. CLOS is a powerful dynamic object system which differs radically from the OOP facilities found in more static languages such as C++ or Java. CLOS was inspired by earlier Lisp object systems such as MIT Flavors and CommonLoops, although it is more general than either. Originally proposed as an add-on, CLOS was adopted as part of the ANSI standard for Common Lisp and has been adapted into other Lisp dialects such as EuLisp or Emacs Lisp. Features The basic building blocks of CLOS are methods, classes, instances of those classes, and generic functions. CLOS provides macros to define those: defclass, defmethod, and defgeneric. Instances are created with the method make-instance. Classes can have multiple superclasses, a list of slots (member variables in C++/Java parlance) and a special metaclass. Slots can be allocated by class (all instances of a class share the slot) or by instance. Each slot has a name and the value of a slot can be accessed by that name...

@p @charlie_root @pernia @bless Schemes are cute but really a thing to themselves, fact is, whenever you hear anyone on the internet shilling about "Lisp", it's always because they have the kinds of brainworms that make them look at Common Lisp and go "this is fine, this is great, I wish all languages were like this". It's a thing with Haskell too, come to think of it.
