#EventSourcingallow us to enrich that with business data; we can combine tracing with business facts we store. Typically, we put them into event metadata. By that, we can see correlate technical traces with business information.

@dr2chase @smallcircles @Martindotnet I think that .NET also does similarly, or at least planned but there were no strong objections. Probably because most of the people didn't know or didn't care.

Still, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. As an OSS tool maintainer, I’d be happy to know how people are really using it. This could help to maintain and improve it. Although, of course, it’s mostly about trust. Probably I wouldn’t enable that by default.

@smallcircles @dr2chase @Martindotnet yup, I see and understand the motivation. Opt-in won’t work as most people won’t enable it and those that do that may not be a proper representation.

But, I understand also people on the other side. Big Corps are not great in general in building such mutual trust 😉

So I think that it’s delicate and both sides need to work on understanding. Probably showing some visible benefits for users could help.
