@dr2chase @smallcircles @Martindotnet I think that .NET also does similarly, or at least planned but there were no strong objections. Probably because most of the people didn't know or didn't care.

Still, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. As an OSS tool maintainer, I’d be happy to know how people are really using it. This could help to maintain and improve it. Although, of course, it’s mostly about trust. Probably I wouldn’t enable that by default.
