@wonderofscience I just realized, the side of the moon locked towards Earth, it has several huge craters, meaning this side once faced away from Earth or space crap hit it by narrowly missing Earth and colliding with visible side of the Moon.

@nixCraft @dannycolin Ai in itself is fine. Local LLM translation in Firefox is really good and I'd take it over Google Translate any time. If Mozilla is planning on adding local LLM summary of webpages, fine. If they train it on their own systems and not on user's I'm fine with it.

Firefox is the only browser that still gives us flexibility with about:config. Don't like the Labs panel? You can turn it off. Don't like this or that? You can turn it off. They just need to fix their communication.

@nixCraft Technically, I don't want ISP's garbage wifi from the modem polluting my uber router wifi.

@eff Damn, few days ago I had a webpage with all VPNs that were audited by 3rd party and I can't find it anymore. App stores are full of questionable VPNs. I'd only use one that was audited by reputable 3rd party in very recent time.

@nixCraft I used to pirate MS Office decades ago. Then I got bored of dealing with it and started using OpenOffice back when it came out. Then migrated to LibreOffice and now I'm using OnlyOffice. All free and no need to bother circumventing stupid DRM since there isn't any.

@pixelfed You can tell them they can sponsor things by donating.

@itsfoss Mint, Ubuntu/Kubuntu and Fedora Gnome/KDE are good options. I'd even put Manjaro on this list because of how well it's put together and with great community.

@arstechnica It's weird how republicans hate science, except for all the marvels of technology like smartphones, internet and all that shit that allows them to spread bullshit. But the science of virology and infectiology, totally bogus. Like, HOW? It's the same damn science, just different branch.

@itsfoss Manjaro counts or does it have to be vanilla Arch? Manjaro install is quite pleasing...

@pixelfed How does image storing work on Pixelfed? Requirements for space are a lot higher than mostly text on Mastodon which can even be compressed.
