   The Microsoft 365 family subscription, with Word, Excel and other apps, will now cost $130 a year. This is a 30% increase for shity AI tools https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-01-16/microsoft-raises-consumer-office-subscription-30-to-130-a-year Just use LibreOffice and a free OS like Linux. At least your data will be stored on your own computer and won’t be part of AI training. They want your data for LLM training and to get paid, too. Corporate greed knows no bounds.

     @nixCraft I used to pirate MS Office decades ago. Then I got bored of dealing with it and started using OpenOffice back when it came out. Then migrated to LibreOffice and now I'm using OnlyOffice. All free and no need to bother circumventing stupid DRM since there isn't any.

     @nixCraft It's not so easy. Nobody wants to deal with documents little differences between Office apps and libreoffice or others. My family wants me to pay the membership. Period!. They doesn't understand my standpoint.
